Fear of God Spring 22 Collection

Jerry Lorenzo consistently is a disruptor. Ever since he broke into the fashion industry in 2013, with very little experience, he has done things his own way. And so far that path has worked out very well for him and brought him to the pinnacle of the fashion world at a record pace. By allowing his faith to drive decisions instead of calendars, opinions, or best practices, Lorenzo’s brand embodies a unique authenticity. It's that innate authenticity that can be felt in all of his designs from Nike to his current label, there is a level of realness that resonates with people. This leads to his collections being some of the hottest pieces every year and his look being often mimicked. His latest disruption was the release of the Spring 2022 Essentials Collection. As usual, the typical fashion calendar plays no bearing on when the collections are released. I recall an interview Lorenzo gave a couple of years ago where he candidly spoke about his journey to sobriety and how it has helped him gain a level of focus he could not reach previously. Well, that focus is evident in this collection.

I for one was blown away, not only by the designs but the sheer size of the collection itself. Men, women, and kids, are all unique to their own category. For me, the neutral colors add to the appeal, making every piece compatible with an endless number of possibilities in an existing wardrobe. I’d say the objective here was absolutely achieved, for making these pieces essential to building a style and look that can work for any occasion. My absolute favorite was the cable knit sweater. And based on how quickly it sold out, so were a lot of people. The large contours and signature cut and design gives it the look of the most comfortable sweater you could own. I am also a huge fan of the coach's jacket. As always, less is more. The style and simplicity of the jacket elevate it up a notch. So what was your favorite piece? Or better question, were you quick enough to get it? I wasn't!
