The Louis Dreamhouse

Last week Louis Vuitton unveiled its Fall/Winter 2022 collection in Paris. This show contained some of the final pieces that Virgil Abloh designed for the men's collection before his unexpected passing. As is expected, it was a well-designed and well-executed event. From the stage to the music, to the pieces, it was a perfect homage to everything Virgil represented during his time as creative director.

The music for the show was composed by Tyler, the Creator. There seemed to be a beautiful effort to make the music just as colorful and imaginative as the pieces and stage design. The show was called "The Louis Dreamhouse." Every element of the show was whimsical and possessed a lighthearted elegance that isn't common at such shows.

Virgil’s legacy will live on through his pieces and his inherent influence on both established designers and up-and-coming designers. It’s good to see Louis Vuitton continues to honor him and in many ways staying true to the core themes that we saw Virgil play with his whole career. It’s unclear when’s the next time we’ll see another Black designer with such impact on a major fashion house like this, and that’s why we should appreciate these moments even more.
